The power and majesty of mountains resonate deep within me. Wouldn't it
be perfect to spend the night on a mountain summit, I thought. So I set out
on a solo adventure to spend the night at the summit of the South Sister
(10,300 ft) located near Bend, OR. I started my climb feeling excited but
also had some trepidation about being alone and exposed at high
elevation.
I reached the summit pleasantly exhausted and set up my sleeping bag,
without a tent, among the rocks. I was blessed to witness a moon and sun
set, shooting stars, and a sun rise from a spiritual vantage point... a
profound and life altering experience!
